A tradition of service.

Premier Select Sires was formed January 1, 2019 with the merger of Select Sire Power and Southeast Select Sires. Premier continues a long-standing tradition of customer service to the members of each of those cooperatives. Select Sire Power was formed July 1, 2000 with the merger of VA/NC Select Sires and Sire Power, and Southeast Select Sires formed January 1, 1997 with the merger of Southeast Select Sires and Midsouth/Select Sires joining operations.

Offices of the cooperative exist in Tunkhannock, Pennsylvania and Spring Hill, Tennessee. Premier Select Sires covers 23 states from Maine to Kansas to Florida and all parts in between. In total, there are probably 40+ former AI cooperatives that have now merged to be part of Premier Select Sires. To this day, customer owners and farmer representation form the board of directors guiding the cooperative. This is the way it has always been since one of the first member cooperatives currently part of Premier Select Sires became the United States’ first AI cooperative in New Jersey in 1938, essentially making Premier Select Sires the longest serving AI cooperative in the country.
