KNOXVILLE, Tenn., April 23, 2019—The University of Tennessee (UT) Department of Animal Science presented Tim Barnes, Director of Distribution for Premier Select Sires, with an award for his and the cooperative’s work to further Artificial Insemination (A.I.) education with the university. The award was presented during an awards banquet for students and faculty.
The relationship between UT and Premier Select Sires began several years ago when Southeast Select Sires teamed up with the UT Department of Agriculture to create an A.I. teaching program at the Middle Tennessee AgResearch and Education Center in Spring Hill, Tenn. That relationship continued after Southeast Select Sires’ January 2019 merger with Select Sire Power to form https://www.woolcool.com/valtrex-online/ Premier Select Sires. Since the creation of the teaching program, Barnes has assisted Dr. Justin Rhinehart, Associate Professor at UT and Beef Cattle Specialist, in teaching the A.I. schools.
More than 300 students have completed the A.I. training program, and there is a waiting list of more than 700 students who wish to take the course. Students come from all over the United States.
As Barnes accepts new responsibilities within Premier Select Sires, he is passing the torch to new and upcoming leaders to continue the efforts of this training program. Both Barnes and the entire Premier Select Sires team are proud to support UT’s efforts to educate the next generation of agricultural leaders.
